Special Projects and Service Trip Funding

VSC Funds Request: VSC will help fund or sponsor various service projects and programs throughout the year.  Students must complete and submit a VSC Fund Request Form found in the documents section of this website.  Preference is given to initiatives that involve several students.  VSC does not fund individuals raising money for service trips or individual service experiences.

Rosser Family Fund for Christian Service:

The mission of the Rosser Fund is to encourage and affirm Christian undergraduate students by providing support for exploration and practice of their Christian faith through service and missions.  Furthermore, the fund seeks to provide non-Christians, who are seeking to understand the faith, the opportunity to experience the Christian life through service.  Approximately $23,000 will be available each year for students who are selected.  The amount of the awards will vary dependent upon the number of applicants and the projects submitted.  The minimum amount awarded is $500.  Awards are not intended to fully fund any project.  Applications will be available through the Campus Ministry Office, the Chaplain’s Office, and the Office of Volunteer Services.  Applications may be downloaded from the documents section of this website and can also be received through email by contacting Associate Chaplain Becky Hartzog at .  Any student participating in a service trip, not just students participating on the Volunteer Services trips, can apply for a Rosser award.

Vacations to Go (VTG) Grants:

The VTG Grant awards a set amount of scholarship money to each international service trip that is sponsored by Volunteer Services.  Only students participating on Volunteer Services sponsored trips can receive trip assistance from the VTG Grant.  Administrators in Volunteer Services will be responsible for selecting the scholarship recipients.  This money will be awarded solely on the basis of financial need as determined by the Financial Aid office.  Administrators will consult with Financial Aid to determine participant’s level of need and award funds accordingly.  All Volunteer Services trip participants are automatically considered for this award; recipients are notified via email if they receive VTG Grant funds.
