Faculty and Staff

Who's Invited

In addition to our specific partner agencies, this event is open to all Wake Forest University faculty, staff and their families. Additionally, there is no charge to attend.

Ways to get Involved

We want faculty and staff to become involved in Project Pumpkin too! There are many ways faculty and staff can participate or volunteer:

  • Participate on the day of the event by taking your child around the Quad (Faculty and staff may bring their children between 2:30 and 6pm; Student escorts not required) You may also stop by our escort table (in front of Wait Chapel) and pick up a map of acitivites to learn about where to take your kids.
  • Volunteer to run a booth or an activity. In the past, we've had the English Department read Halloween stories to children on the Quad, the Office of Admissions run a carnival booth, and the Departments of Physics and Chemistry run a "Mad Scientist" Show. Sign-up here
  • Come up with something unique and contact us or to see if we can make it happen
  • Volunteer to drive a van: Because most of the agencies do not have transportation to come to campus, we bring them to us! In addition to the school buses donated to us by the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County schools, we have a number of rental vans that need drivers. We will need you to drive vans the entire afternoon of the event. Contact us if you can help with transportation!
  • Volunteer to be an agency escort. Agency escorts go with the provided transportation to agencies with a name list and name tags to pick up the children. This is an extremely important job, and we need agency escorts to make sure the kids are safe and accounted for! Contact us if you can help!
